Daily Goal: Reflect upon your thoughts surrounding frugality. What are some misconceptions that you will need to overcome? How has materialism and useless spending held you in bondage?
You can read the post here: http://frugallysustainable.com/2012/01/day-1-redefining-frugality/
Being frugal does not mean being cheap or a "tightwad" to me it means being smart with how I spend my money and how I use the resources I already have. My goal for day 1 is to look at some of the things we use daily and see if we can't find either a better way to use them or a way to make the products so that I am saving $ in the long run.
I am trying to make yogurt today. This is my first attempt. My family eats yogurt like it is going out of style for breakfast, lunch, dinner and in between!! :-) I am hoping that this attempt is a success as in the long run it will save us $ and will be a much healthier option. ( I will be sure to post my results tomorrow!!)
I have also recently made my own sugar hand scrub. In the past I would spend quite a bit one a small bottle of scrub. And to be honest I like the one I made much better and it works just as good if not better.
These are just 2 small steps but I believe that if I can continue my small steps will turn into larger more meaningful ones.
